June 17 - The Mountain

June 17 - We woke up to a bright clear day today.  We were all ready to go when Gary discovered we had a low tire so we spent a good half hour taking care of that. Then off we went to leave the park and head for Talkeetna where we will be staying for a couple nights.  Talkeetna is a real tourist town - restaurants, shops and bars.  Kovars stayed at the park and will join us on Sunday. 

We couldn't believe how lucky we were when we spotted the mountain.  Driving to our destination took up most of the day because we stopped for lunch and to take lots of pictures.  Here are some of them.

We're hoping for another clear day tomorrow because we are taking a 2 hour airplane ride around Denali and the Alaska Range. Should have some good pics for you then.

It's hard to tell when you're supposed to go to bed but Gary tells me it 10:00 pm and we have to be at the airport at 8:00 in the morning.
